Dental Crowns
Ceramic crowns are used to strengthen teeth after significant tooth decay, breakage, or other damage. Dental crowns can also be used to cover up severe tooth discoloration so patients can feel confident with their smiles. To see if you are a candidate for ceramic crowns, we recommend scheduling an appointment with our Grand Rapids dentist. With other dental practices, you may be forced to wait several weeks for your dental crown to be made in an off-site lab.
Restorative Dentistry
However, our Grand Rapids dentist uses CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics). CEREC Treatment is a special type of technology that allows us to create same-day dental restorations.
To prepare the tooth for a dental crown, our dentist will need to remove enough enamel that the crown won’t make your tooth seem bulky. Next, our dentist will take digital dental impressions of your teeth. He’ll then get to work designing your custom ceramic crown right in front of your eyes.
Once the Grand Rapids dentist is satisfied with the design, he’ll have it made in the milling unit right in our office. Same-day dental crowns are affordable because they eliminate the need for temporary crowns and second appointments.
Dr. Ritzema DDS at Complete Health Dentistry strives to help patients maintain good oral health and overall health. If you are interested in learning more about the dental crown treatments, call our Grand Rapids dental crown dentist at (616) 458-7267.
